Ford Mustang – GT – Know the Difference

TheFord Mustang has a special room in their fan’s hearts for 5.0 and now Ford has launched a new car to love i.e. the Ford Mustang - GT 2011. The 5.0 - liter V8 Ford Mustang GT will offer 412 horsepower (hp) and 390 lb-ft torque.

Its engine produce 83 hpeach liter and gives 17 mpg in a city and 25 mpg on a highway, as said by the Ford marketing manager Jim Farley. The main competitors of Ford Mustang – GT are Chevrolet Camaro SS producing 426 hp, and Dodge Challenger SRT8 producing 425 hp. Obviously, the top in line Shelby GT500 and its supercharged V8 stays the pony car hp king, producing 540 hp.

Now what actually made the new V8 engine providing such a power to Mustang is how the engineers let the engine breathe. All-new heads set on all-new aluminum block having cast-iron sleeved cylinder. The huge distance among the heads lets intake ports to be upright on top of engine. The engine has four valves each cylinder and two identical independent variable timed valve. Tuned stainless steel cylindrical exhaust headers remove the necessity for aftermarket headers to permita better engine breathing.
In engine there are forged-steel counterweight crankshaft and a four-bolt bearings and outstanding performance pistons and connecting rods of forged steel. Maximum horsepower is at 6500 rpm. The redline is at 7000 rpm.

With using composite and aluminum materials in engine has decreased the mass of V8 to 430 lbs, nearly 20% lighter than previous 5 liter engine.

The 5 liter Mustang may be fitted with 6R80 six-speed automatic transmission or MT82 six-speed manual transmission.
The Ford Mustang - GTcomes with brand new fender badges and also has now 3 new colors i.e. Yellow Blaze Tri-Coat, Ingot Silver, and Race Red.
